Housed in a former shipyard in the Danish capital, Copenhagen Contemporary is one of Scandinavia’s largest exhibition spaces for contemporary art.
In the spring of 2019, renowned artist Claudia Compte’s exhibition “I Have Grown Taller from Standing With Trees” was to be showcased in the largest exhibit hall of CC, decorated with high ceilings and surrounded by large window sections. The imminent challenge was for us at ARNE AKSEL to create a way of distributing light evenly from the windows throughout the open space, creating a pleasant and humbling atmosphere in line with Comte's works.
Our solution was to create a curtain piece totaling over 500 meters of our white AIR curtains. The results were magnificent lighting, alluring shadowplay, and a flirtatious atmosphere that we believe echoed the emotions of Comte’s pieces.
